Let me start from the least important to the most important factors.
1. Inspire others:
If you radiate positivity and happiness to others, you’ll internalize it. It will naturally become who you are. If you follow me on Instagram @ daralynn_l I exemplify how it has become apart of me.
2. Seek an expert:
If you are truly unhappy with yourself, a Psychologist or therapist may be able to help you work towards self love.
3. Get help from a close friend:
A real friend will tell you the truth . They see things inside of you, that you can’t readily see as you are in the moment of your feelings. Ask them if they’ve ever felt the way you do. If so, how did they handle the concern.
4. Always surround yourself with positive people:
It helps to be around people that will be you up. They are your biggest cheerleaders. They think you’re an awesome and talented person.
5. Become social :
Get interested in others. It takes the focus away from yourself. Do this by being genuine and honest. Some people can detect a fake a mile away. Celebrate other peoples accomplishments such as a new baby, new house, promotions, marriages or test scores. In turn others will unconsciously do the same for you. You don’t want to boast about yourself and become misinterpreted as a narcissist.
6. Be intrinsically motivated:
Being able to rely less on others for praises or financial gain in order to achieve your goals. Be persistent and take chances. Involve yourself in activities that make you feel alive and complete. Like me, I enjoy building a beautiful portfolio of a woman. It makes me feel good, to show her what she’s missing- a gorgeous woman in front of my lens.
7. Create attainable goals:
The first thing to do is fix what you can change. It doesn’t matter if it’s directly for you or not. If it’s bothersome work on it. Having goals increases happiness. This will help you progress to your true self. I have a financial goal this year. I wrote down the plan and the goal on how I will achieve it. Let go of what you can’t change. For instance your height, ethnicity or your family upbringing.
8. Build your character:
Donate your money or time to a charity. This helps you feel like you are giving back. There are places to donate clothes to ( for instance) a women’s shelter. The women may be getting shaped up to get back into the work force, but they don’t have any business attire. You may have tons of nice business casual clothes to donate. It can put a smile on the recipients and face and yours too.
9. Have respect for yourself:
Treat yourself well and not allow anyone to treat you like old garbage. Get enough rest, drink plenty of water. This is how you respect health. Choose your clothes wisely according to your body type and the occasion . Putting time into your wardrobe says a lot about how you feel about your appearance. This is widely connected to self love.
10. Have a little positive talk with yourself:
If it will help, post positive affirmations around the house. Take selfies and positive them on Instagram with positive messages. This removes anxiety, negative emotions and increases confidence. If you didn’t pass a test. Tell yourself it’s ok. Now you know what to expect when you take it again.
Don’t allow small mistakes effect your overall health and identity.
