Fall Tablescape 2017: Fabulous Earth tones

spoon.jpgI love everything about fall! It’s my favorite time of the year.  To welcome fall I started with my tablescape. I went with earth tones. It may not look like much, but the gold, beige tones look amazing together. Using earth tones can be easily converted to another table scheme. untitled-4759-1.jpgI used dishes from Home Goods with a different  design to add interest to the table. The subtle pop of color would enhance a Christmas tablescape. Make sure you follow my blog to see what I have in store for Christmas . The place setting is from Bed Bath & Beyond . untitled-4760-1.jpgThe  beaded table liner is from Home Goodsuntitled-4753-1.jpgMix the designs as you see here with the soup bowl. It doesn’t have to match but it should work well together. untitled-4756-1.jpgThe Victoria Stemware is from Z Gallerie. I fell in love with the gold and crystal detailing. The rem of the glass is trimmed in gold, which  adds balance to the overall design . Think of this lightweight glassware as jewelry on the table. If you hate doing the dishes you may not want to purchase this glassware. Due to it’s crystal detailing it’s strongly recommended that you hand wash only. turkey.jpgThe ceramic turkey is from Home Goods.

It’s all about the details. Give your table a bit of your personality and style. If you use mainly neutrals you’ll see how easily this can change to a different decor scheme without breaking the bank.  You’ll get more use from your decor pieces, because it will match anything in the house no matter where you move it. Be sure to follow me to receive notifications whenever there is a new blog post. If you’ve been following my blog, I really want to thank you.  Be sure to follow me to see my tablescape on  Youtube.

Makeup Remover Wipes Can Irritate Your Skin.

Makeup wipes are quick and convenient but they aren’t an option for skin health. I learned that quickly after purchasing Pacifica Essential makeup remover wipes. Actually is was the confirmation I needed, because years ago I tried ( forgot the brand) another makeup wipe remover and it irritated my skin. However, it didn’t burn me like Pacifica did.

Most people dread taking the time before bed to remove makeup . For me it is all about getting the least amount of makeup from my white wash clothes as possible. It is sort of like using a baby wipe on a babies butt. You want to get the most off with the diaper and leave the rest for the wipe. Therefore, you’re using less wipes. I hope you liked that analogy. Can you visualize poop now?  Ok, I used a Pacifica makeup remover wipe on my face to remove foundation. I also had mascara on. I used the wipes on my lashes to soften the mascara. In less than a second my skin and eyes began to burn. My skin never calmed down until I took a wet wash cloth with cold water and pat my face. I had to literally splash my eyes with water underneath the faucet. My bloody word! It was horrible. I rubbed it down my neck as well to make sure there weren’t much makeup on my neck and it began to burn as well.

After my face cooled down and my vision wasn’t obscured  from the burn I read the ingredients . I noticed it read Common Sense Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. This should have been mentioned on the front of the package . It only states makeup remover wipes on the front . If it’s vegan , cruelty ,paraben, (SLS) Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, and petroleum free then why the heck does it burn? Natural products should harm your eyes. That is like making baby shampoo to harm a babies eyes. What the heck!! wipe.jpgWhile makeup wipes are supposed to be a Godsend. Do yourself a huge favor, get Huggies for sensitive skin in the green packaging . Wipe off the top layer of your makeup to avoid having so much  in your wash cloth. Then take your normal cleaners and wash your face as directed. Make sure you splash the tepid water on your skin to avoid irritation ( If you have sensitive skin like mine) and wipe off the remaining makeup with a white wash cloth. The wipe will remedy the dyes getting into your skin from colored wash cloths. DSC_4741.jpgTake these bougie makeup wipes and clean your light switch with them or something. Keep them away from your face! Don’t let this pretty packing fool you.  A baby wipe has never hurt my eyes.

Ageless Beauty: As We Get Older Our Skin Becomes Dry

It hit me like a train! One morning I woke up and my skin was dry and rough as a cactus plant. I didn’t know what happened . I woke up like that.  I tried facial lotions, creams and I even reduced down to vaseline….ah! Not one thing worked.

As the days went by I noticed my cheeks were swollen, red and there were little fine bumps concentrated mostly over my cheeks. Is this adult acne? I didn’t know what to do. It was itching and turning into a rash. My skin began to look grayish. It was warm to the touch and I was extremely uncomfortable .

At some point I thought I used something to exacerbate  the problem. This led to a trip to Whole foods. I spend hours on end reading each and every skin care product to find everything I used failed, until I tried http://www.acure.com It did’t totally get rid of the dryness but the redness and swelling went down to a minimum. The itching became mild. It wasn’t the cure I was looking for but it calmed it down enough to tolerate it.

What you ageless beauties should know is that your skin will change over time. It is at the mercy of many elements: cold weather, sun, smoking and stress. How your skin ages is depending upon you: Your lifestyle, habits, heredity and diet. Drinks tons of water to flush out the impurities definitely helps. Be sure to get plenty of rest, because your skin will tell that you are a night owl over time.

Skin changes due to age:

* The skin is more fragile

  • The skin loses elastic tissue
  • The skin becomes easily bruised  ( Lord this is me)
  • The skin is rougher

My final thoughts: You can continue to be an ageless beauty. Part of what makes you so beautiful is the fact you age gracefully. You’ll notice a few parallel  lines on your forehead  around the age of 30 or 40 yrs of age. Clean your face gently with your products of choice. Make sure that product doesn’t include bar soap. Use a white cloth and pat your face. Do not scrub. Always go in next with a good moisturizer. Like me, if it isn’t working allow your face a rest period before trying something new. If your skin is sensitive like mine, it will not be able to recover as well from various products at once. This will also ensure which product actually caused an adverse reaction. Be proud of the skin you’re in. Take care…

How To Look Classy And Sexy

untitled-1591Sex appeal comes from within. It starts with confidence . Next it’s your appearance.

Here are ways to look classy and have sexy.

Lets start with the top of your head and work our way down: Your hair should always look kemp and smell clean. The classy sexy lady has a simple  hairstyle. A straight, wavy, curly or messy  bob. It will look nice  long or short. It’s one of the most beautiful classic versatile hairstyles a woman of style and class could ever wear. No unnatural colors on the classy lady. Her hair is black, brown, brunette or blonde.  There are other styles. The high bun, low bun, the loose hair pulled back on the sides and front, while back hangs down. It’s a corporate look or a wedding look. If you don’t have any hair that’s no problem for the classy sexy woman.

Your makeup:  It isn’t a necessity, but if your going to wear it learn how to apply it properly.  You should look effortlessly put together. Natural tones will give you a soft, no makeup, makeup look as your daily wear.

Jewelry:  Dainty jewelry is very feminine. It looks soft and elegant against your skin, given off a  timeless beauty look. You appear to have taken the time to think about your appearance down to your delicate jewels. One of the most appealing jewelry is a thin necklace. The trio’s look tasteful as long as they are thin.

Clothes:  Should fit your perfectly and appeal to your body type, age and occasion. Watch the camel toe slacks and jeans. You don’t want to look as if your girl parts has entered the room alone. Skirts and dresses should be flattering in color, style and shape. Blouses shouldn’t show off too much boobage. If everyone is looking at your chest instead of your face, you need to change your blouse. The peekaboo tops…well find the trash can.

Nails:  Neat ,clean, short or medium length is for the classy sexy woman. The extreme long claws, curved or pointed isn’t for the grown and sexy. Leave the wild colors to the teens. You know, one nail is red, the other one is yellow, the next nail is green and the last nail has your initials on it.

Shoes:  Before purchasing your heels, you must be able to walk in them.   A pair that are 3.5 inches should be the limit. Especially if you’re in the  corporate world. Anything else just seems too impractical.  Platforms definitely don’t belong in the workplace.

This is only my personal opinion, please don’t get offended . If you like your look, I love it!

It’s Time To Fall For Cornbread Dressing

As a child it was simply known as, Dressing. Everyone knew what you were speaking of. Often times dinner would be at my parents house. The late comers would always call to verify if there’s any Dressing. It was the staple for a true fall family gathering. If there weren’t any left, it just wasn’t the same.

There are so many variations of dressing. Some people add sausage, mushroom broth, or carrots to name a few ingredients . There isn’t a wrong or write way to make it. It’s all in personal taste. My two main have to have’s is it must not be dry and whole cranberries on top. untitled-1891-1.jpg
