I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, with both of my biological parents. I have two brothers that are younger than I am. Yet somehow I’m still considered the baby. May be because I’m female. Yes, I think that’s what one of my brothers told me.
At the age of nine years of age I grew up loving and fixated on a camera and it’s components. Not only did I want to learn how to shoot a 35mm film camera, I needed to know how the camera worked technically to create images. As a teen, I became the appointed family photographer . There wasn’t anything I wouldn’t shoot if I thought it would leave a piece of history.
Now that I’m older, not only do I want to photograph women, of all races, sizes and ages to promote self love. I want to be more of a positive advocate for women. In nearly all facets of my life I have experienced women with low self esteem and noticed how females aren’t as kind to one another as they should. I want to be the face of self love and positiveness to all women.
You’ll find blogs regarding healthy eating, self love, beauty tips, product reviews and some lifestyle as well. Hopefully some of my blogs will reflect that I’m human and I share challenges sometimes. I’m not just a face behind a computer. Vibe with me. Share and leave comments. I would love that.
While I enjoy blogging on various topics of interest. My main focus is the lovely women over 40. When your a woman that’s over 40, you face new challenges in life. There’s how society views women over 40, health challenges and the desire to feel accepted and beautiful as your body changes.
Ageless Beauty: As We Get Older Our Skin Becomes Dry
I know some people don’t celebrate this Hallmark holiday, but I’m all for anything that is sweet. With all of the negativity that goes on in the world everyday, Valentines Day is welcomed around here. Now some of you may not have a special someone in your life and perhaps that’s why you don’t care much for valentines . Then there are those who think it’s just a commercial day to spend money. Whatever your feelings are about this day set aside; to openly express love. Don’t forget to love yourself no matter what.
I spent my valentines in Manhattan, New York. The trip was amazing despite a few little hiccups in the plan. It was a part of my bucket list. I’ve always wanted to do this and I can finally check it off. Done! It’s truly a blessing to live out some of my dreams and obtain a few goals. What did you do on Valentines Day? Read below this picture. Leave a comment about your day. In the meantime watch this video.
I love a good DIY. For me a DIY is one that is almost flawless . It has the look of being purchased straight off the shelf and ready. I don’t do very many Do -it- yourself projects. Well, I digress. Most of my DIY’s don’t make it to mainstream because they don’t usually pass my finicky inspection.
I was in the market for some nightstands for my bedroom. I looked at several online and found so many beautiful ones. I thought I wanted to try mirrored furniture. Considering I only have one piece of mirrored furniture in the entire house. let me put this out here, I think anything can be over done. I don’t want to go nuts with too many mirrored pieces. However, I think I can stand for a bit more.
For the life of me, I don’t know why I decided to hack a nightstand in lieu of purchasing one to my liking. Perhaps I was in the Martha Stewart mood the day I went to Ikea. Side note: Some people call me a the brown Martha Stewart. Hehehe …oh That wasn’t funny. Sorry, back to the subject at hand. I went down to or up to Ikea and bought the Rast Chest. It’s a three drawer chest and I felt like it is taller than the average nightstands I see in some furniture stores. I don’t know what the heck furniture makers are thinking when they create little doll house nightstands for grown people. I’m grown! I need storage next to me my bed. I nearly bought a buffet to go next to my bed, because the doll house nightstands are working out. For now I’ll try this chest near my bed. I’ll see how I feel about it in a few months. If not, I’ll purchase something larger.
It was relaxing to put together. I painted it and look at how it went from drab to fab. Watch the video and tell me what you think. Did I do good girl? Until next time. Stay beautiful!
Believe it or not I love mens fashion. On the contrary there is always a lot of talk about clothes that are offered to women. In the meantime, mens fashion is neglected, because there is this stigma that men do not care about style. Perhaps more women are interested in fashion. They read style magazines and nearly every woman at least once in their life has thought about becoming a model.
As you set out to help your guy refine his dress code, Think about which wardrobe words of wisdom is worth heeding. At any rate I think your guy should have a little of everything in his closet to have enough pieces for every occasion. You should never have to run out and buy him anything on a fly for something specific. It should be in his closet already. Much like a stylish woman. If she’s attending an after 5 event, there should be a few gowns in her wardrobe prepared for that special event.
For my guy ( hubby) I started with refining his dress shirts. He wears suits almost daily for business. It was time to increase the amount of shirts and freshen his wardrobe with new ones. I shop at JoS. A. Bank the majority of the time for his business attire. They are known for high quality menswear. They have an array of classic and casual styled clothing. JoS. A. Bank, is a bit pricey but you get your monies worth. As a perk, you’ll receive $50.00 as a reward for spending $500.00. The pay off is that you will look great for years to come. If your guy is a professional, looking great should be his last concern.
The hubby and I made another trip to my favorite mens shop. Make sure your guy not only gets measured but try on the shirts. Sometimes the measurement doesn’t always equate to comfort.
